RMM: Contemplating A Realm, Time To Commit To A Build!

I’ve, once again, gotten the bug to play some more Minecraft. This time, my wife and daughters are in on it as well. More my wife since she can coordinate her fingers with her brain and my youngest play Minecraft (or any game for that matter) like a Warlock player in World of Warcraft does by smashing the keys at random. The main difference is that it’s effective in WoW. In Minecraft, it makes you spin in circles and gets close to breaking Dad’s keyboard.

Moving on, we’ve (well me, really) wanted more of a stable environment for our Minecrafting and it’s always more fun to play with friends. Our buddy’s server never really came back so it was basically up to us if we really wanted to play together. We don’t have a separate computer that we want running all of the time so a realm was kind of the only way this was going to happen. Luckily for us, they have a thirty-day free trial so we’re playing around with that and seeing if it’s something we want to plunk down $8 a month on. It’s not a lot, but still… it’s my money. Here are some of the pics of the start of this great adventure this time.

RMM is back, the zombies are having a party for me!

We made the underground look a little nicer. This was so it was easier to get to the farm.

Skylights... they don't look that good when you start them from the ground level.

So that’s it for now. I will be making more progress as time goes by because that’s just how it goes. This will be updated when I feel like it, but honestly, after having the issue I did with Steam a few days ago, this game is easier to jump into than anything else I’ve got. I need to get back to work though…

Looks great. I have my own realm that’s been recurring since they first released Realms. Honestly we don’t play it every month, so some money has been wasted. But when we do play my wife and I have a lot of fun being creative. I should probably cancel considering it’s been a couple months… >.> But hey $8/month. Some woman I know spends more at Dutch Brothers in a day. 😛

I won’t comment on the Dutch Bros., but yeh. That’s one of the things we’re thinking about is how much we’d use it. I’ve got a big enough build in mind that it would take me a while, but I know that I’m not 100% Minecraft all of the time. However, my youngest suddenly has a great interest in it so it could go for a few months and that wouldn’t be too bad.

Off-topic: We refunded our No Man’s Sky purchases. Too many solid reviewers I trust that are saying it’s lacking a ton. Beautiful worlds, inventive ship models. But extremely dull alien races, repetitive grinding, and every life form behaving the same way. Another reason to keep playing MC! And another reason to look forward to Star Citizen, the game that will never be released before our kids graduate high school.

I have another game for you in a little while. I’ve got to hunker down and actually play it, but it seems like the next legit evolution of Minecraft. I’ll keep you posted. Maybe even stream it next week if I can figure out how to not suck at it if I’m allowed to.

Oh! I’ve been a kickstarter for that since they’ve been around. Formerly known as Planets3. Go to their Misc. Off-Topic section on their forums. Scroll all the way down to the bottom. Back when they first started their forums they used to call that “General Discussion.” So I wrote a post on there saying hey you can’t have two General Discussions. Rename it to Off-Topic. And they did that day! Hah. I’ve played a few of the first versions of their alpha. It’s coming along great. 😀
