Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate Demo Available Today!
The demo for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate is no available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop! Go get yourself some Castlevania demo action and prepare yourself for the game to launch on March 5th.
My verdict is: meh. The graphics are cool, and the 3D hardward of the 3DS really makes you feel like you’re in a large castle, but the combat I find irritating. Canned combos and platformers don’t go well together because being able to jab-and-weave is so important when you’re surrounded. While I like some of the moves, such as a rising whirlwind attack I found 3 buttons into a combo, since I can’t do them on a moment’s notice their usefulness drops significantly.
Also, grab doesn’t grab. The R button is a finisher move that has very little to do with grabs. And Block doesn’t block half the attacks in the game. And dust clouds kill me. WTF? Grrr.
