What’s This About?

What’s up internet people!  Welcome to The Videogame Backlog!

Now who am I?  I’m just your regular guy that enjoys the gaming scene.  I love the occasional FPS (when not on a console, but I will accept the N64), puzzle, acti… you know what?  I like most games except where they are just try’n to scare you or make you be the bad guy.  I’m not saying there isn’t room for that genre, but that it just doesn’t hold my interests.

On this site I will be posting what I see as news, thoughts on goings on, and reviews of video games both new, beta, and older than what would normally be put on a website that tries to stay current.  The thing is, life happens and I can’t always get to the games that it throws at me.  So I mix my gaming up with something recent and look at something like… Donkey Kong for the Gameboy.  I’ll share my experiences and then go and tell you to throw your money away.  It’s as simple as that!

I also believe in the readers!  That means I don’t believe that the internet has ruined everyone’s attention span and I will go into detail when I feel necessary.  Does that make some posts long?  You bet it does, but not all of them.  Some games just don’t require a book (I’m looking at you Skyrim!)

A few buds have joined the Backlog and now add content where they see fit.  I’ll try to stay consistent with everything we do and I hope you enjoy what you read here.

Thanks for checking out my site and I hope to get some good comments out of you all!

PS: Please don’t post comments that just advertise your own site.  If you don’t care about the site and just want to promote your own site, please do it elsewhere.  If I approve your post, I’ll probably edit it and/or mock you afterwards.  This goes for trolls as well… well the bad ones that is.

Carefully, please come back to figure out exactly how in a long, detailed and coded format that you’ll have to have a special ring to find the meaning to soon(ish)!

    Greetings Jonathan,

First of all, great blog/site! A few months ago I was having the same issue as you, how to play the freaking backlog that torments us. I’m not spamming my blog but if could take a look just to share your comments about it, I’d be delighted.

Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to keep reading your posts, really enjoyed the format of the website.

    Thanks!

Thank you man. I’ve been working on this site trying to get it to look and feel like I want it too and I’m still not done. I’ve got a few more tweeks until I’m satisfied. I have a sinking feeling that it probably won’t end there, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.

I took a gander at your site and I commend anyone with a backlog and a life while trying to conquer it. It looks good, keep it up!

Have you updated the backlog list lately? I thought you finished Xenoblade or maybe it’s a different Xenoblade. I’m also curious why games like Monster Hunter 3U are not on the list. Was it because you played when it came out, so it didn’t technically become a backlogged game? I was thinking people might like to like to know what you’ve played even if it didn’t make the backlog list.

I’ve shied away from updating the Backlog for a few reasons now. At first it was because well… it’s a bit of work. It’s true, I have acquired a few more games and need to put them up there.

However, I now have “technically” three more people helping with content on this site. Having a personal backlog worked very well when it was just me and now it kind of feels a bit odd. I think I’m going to get over it soon-ish, but it still feels a little off.

So now I’m in the middle of debating adding to the backlog and keeping it up or creating a list of games that we’ve (or I’ve) reviewed and/or having the rest of the guys give me a list of their games on their backlogs. It’s something to mull over.
